Welcome to my page!

I repurpose cloth, yarn and other items that would otherwise end up in landfills.

Many people are looking to downsize and/or declutter their lives and are finding they have too much stuff and do not like the idea of just throwing the items away. So they post on line - like Facebook Marketplace or local groups to give the items away. This is great for items that are in good to excellent shape. But what about items with stains or rips or just plain worn out?

That's where I come in!

I will make new items from the salvageable parts of the discarded items.

Some examples:

A sheet set with pillow cases where only the fitted sheet has some thinning on the bottom half.

  • Each pillowcase can become a child's dress. This image shows some little girl dresses that where made out of pillowcases.

  • A top sheet can yield at least one adult sun dress depending on the size of the sheet. These next 2 items were made from a single king size top sheet. Both are adult sizes; one is a maxi dress and one is a long tunic. (Notice the ruffle on the tunic?  That is made from the elasticized sides of the bottom sheet.)

How about those reusable plastic-coated shopping bags from retail stores? They are great to reuse, but then what to do with them when the seams start to go or when they get snagged and ripped?

They make great waterproof aprons, of course.

I look forward to sharing my ideas, tips, hints and projects with you. Together we can help keep these items out of our landfill and in use.
